Why you'd want to live in Sugar Camp
Sugar Camp is a small, unincorporated village on State Highway 17 about halfway between Rhinelander and Eagle River. It has a sweet-sounding name that evokes images of maple sugar harvesting. While that image is an accurate one it only reflects a small piece of what makes Sugar Camp a great place to live. It is centrally located between Eagle River, Rhinelander, Minocqua and St Germain. It is the home of the 5 lake Sugar camp chain as well as many more lakes; and is also the home of some of the first northwoods resorts. It sits in Oneida County tucked within 82,000 acres of Oneida County Forest. A recreational paradise for hunters, fisherman, and sportsman alike this is a great place to stop, breathe in deep and enjoy the sound of silence.
